Dr. Richard Guess is more or less a native of Wichita Falls, having moved here in 1977. He attended Rider High School and graduated in 1985 where he then continued on to The University of Texas where he graduated in 1989 with a B.A. in Biology. Hook ’em Horns! From Austin he moved 90 minutes south to San Antonio to attend dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center, where he graduated with a D.D.S. in 1993. Dr. Guess set up practice in Wichita Falls immediately after graduation, and appreciates being a North Texan and the North Texas community.
He is a member of The American Dental Association (ADA), The Texas Dental Association (TDA), The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and The Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD).
Dr. Guess has served on both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Arts Council of Wichita Falls Area, which administers the Kemp Center for the Arts and The Forum. He also served on the board of directors for the North Central Texas Better Business Bureau (BBB). Maplewood Laser Dental Clinic has been an A+ rated business with the BBB since 2004. MLDC is also a proud member of the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry, and we believe it is important to support local and small businesses.
Dr. Guess’s wife, Tina, is a retired Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Midwestern State University. They enjoy their children and grandchildren, and are very proud of them all.
