Why “Comprehensive Dentistry” at Maplewood Laser Dental Clinic?  Most dentists these days are branding their work as “Cosmetic Dentistry”.  We do great Cosmetic Dentistry at MLDC, but limiting our focus to Cosmetic Dentistry would be a disservice to you.  Dr. Guess believes in comprehensive dentistry because your oral health is an indicator of your total body health, and oral health directly affects your well being.  Periodontal disease (gum disease) and gingivitis can be a result of abnormal amounts of bad bacteria in your mouth.  Periodontal disease is also being shown to have adverse effects on your heart health (cardiovascular disease), diabetes incidence, increased chance of stroke, a role in inflammatory disease, osteoporosis, and low birth weight.  We believe in laser dentistry and specialized diagnosis to gently treat periodontal disease and gingivitis if needed, increasing your chance at total well-being.  We call it “Comprehensive Dentistry” to let you know we treat all ages and all types of dental needs.
